Monetary Contribution
Funds raised by annual dues and book sales help the Friends a great deal in our mission to support the Library. However, addition money contributions are greatly appreciated and welcomed. You can choose if the amount donated go towards the Friends or towards the Endowment.

Friends
Anyone who has participated in the summer reading program or has attended one of the many entertaining and informative programs hosted by the library should know that these are funded in large part by the Friends. These are major expenditures that may not have otherwise been possible without us. Friends money has also been used for Adirondack chairs for the lawn, the covered area in the playground, the vegetable garden, the ice cream social, adult and child craft programs; the list goes on.
Endowment
In 1999, a group of forward thinking members of the Board of the Friends of the Mansfield Library proposed opening an investment account in the Friends’ name. They argued there might come a time when the library or the Friends would need funds for a major project beyond the scope of the Town budget or when economic circumstances would force a catastrophic decrease in library funding. They knew then, and we are especially aware now, that even the unimaginable is possible. The proposal was passed and since then we have endeavored to deposit $1,000 in the fund from each book sale, with the exception of the past two years when we have been unable to have our biannual sales. It is not just these deposits that contribute to the fund; we want to especially acknowledge and thank the generous members who have made one-time or annual donations to the fund. We would like to encourage other members to consider including a donation in their estate planning or when they renew their membership.
